Materials:Timber and Black coated Steel legs and fixings
Ground Preparation:Excavate two holes in the ground each 300mm deep x 250mm wide and 450mm long to received concrete to form the concrete footing. Two steel rods set in concrete to form root anchors for bench.
Fixings / installation:The base of the legs of the benches contain two holes which steel rods project through, pre-set in the concrete footing, to form a root anchor. The rods then received bolts to secure the bench in place.
Maintenance:The log will need maintenance to stop wood mites and other insects. Steel needs polishing.
Cost:£4,500 exl. VAT and Delivery
Other Considerations:If possible, place bench away from main root system of the tree (concrete is toxic to trees) and the canopy to avoid leaf drop on bench.
There are potential options for a back rest to be incorporated in the design but it would lead to extra cost.
